Whether you are visiting for a routine eye examination, contact lenses, specialist eye care, or a new pair of glasses, our experienced team is dedicated to providing a comfortable and welcoming experience from start to finish.
Between them, Scott and Sach have more than 50 years of experience within the optical profession. Scott began his career as an optical technician, developing an in-depth understanding of lens manufacture and spectacle construction, while Sach qualified as an optometrist from City, University of London and brings extensive clinical expertise to the practice.
To support the highest standards of patient care, we continue to invest in advanced diagnostic technology that allows us to assess eye health in greater detail and detect potential problems earlier.
Our technology includes:
This investment in technology helps us provide more comprehensive eye examinations, earlier detection of eye conditions, and personalised recommendations based on detailed clinical information.
One of the things that sets Scott Waters Opticians apart is our onsite optical laboratory. Having our own lab allows us to glaze many spectacles in practice, giving us complete control over quality and craftsmanship.
Because we fit lenses ourselves, every pair of glasses receives careful attention throughout the manufacturing process. This not only helps us maintain the highest standards but also enables us to offer services such as spectacle repairs, adjustments, and selected 1-hour glasses for suitable prescriptions.
For more than two decades, Scott Waters Opticians has been proud to serve Newbury and the surrounding Berkshire area. Our reputation has been built on professional expertise, personal recommendations, and a commitment to treating every patient as an individual.
Whether you are looking for expert eye care, advanced eye health assessments, contact lenses, myopia management, dry eye care, or quality eyewear, our experienced team is here to help you enjoy clear, comfortable vision for years to come.
I’ve just moved to the area and am so pleased to have found this fantastic opticians. The customer service is first class and the range of eyewear is brilliant. Got a nice pair of Oliver Peoples specs in the end and was suitably advised on the varifocal options. Reasonably priced but Scott and his team are the biggest asset here. Highly recommend. Jo 🙂
I can highly recommend this opticians. They are very professional and explain everything well and take their time with you. I have needed attention outside of booked appointments for various sudden reasons and they have have kindly slotted me in to be seen soon which is so much appreciated. They have some great frames although expensive but often on a 2 for 1 offer. So much better than others I have used in Newbury over the last 30 years.
Excellent service! My sunglasses were missing a screw so I took them in to see if they could be repaired. They were repaired within two minutes and the service was free, very happy customer
As ever a brilliant service from Scott, Jake, Sash and Dagmara – a top class optician and lots of fun into the bargain!!
My children and I have been coming here for quite a while. The continuity of care is super appreciated as is the helpfulness of the team. They take the time to explain everything in great detail and make sure it’s all clear for me as a parent and also understood by the kids
